Frequently Asked Questions

Use the official Little League League Finder tool to confirm eligibility by home address or school attendance.
Players League Age 4–7 may register with any league.
Players League Age 8–16 must live OR go to school inside Canal boundaries, unless they played Spring with Canal last year.
Proof of residency OR school enrollment.
Medical Release Form (completed during registration or document check).
Returning Spring players remain eligible at Canal as long as their participation is continuous.
A late fee may apply, and team placement is not guaranteed after March 15.
League Age is determined by Little League's official age charts based on your player's birth month and year.
The registration system automatically offers the correct division based on League Age.
Players league age 9–12 are required to attend evaluations for our competitive divisions (Minor A and Majors Baseball).
League age 9: Evaluated only for Minor A.
League ages 10–11: Evaluated for Majors; players not drafted to Majors will be placed in Minor A.
League age 12: Must be drafted to Majors.
Players who were on a Majors team last season do not need to attend evaluations; they will automatically return to their previous team.

*Exception: A player who elects to return to free agency (one-time courtesy during our transition from a full re-draft to a keeper system) must attend evaluations.

Requests may be considered for Tee Ball and Coach Pitch only. Competitive divisions follow the draft process.
Yes. Little League partners with T-Mobile to offer the Call Up Grant, which helps families cover registration fees.

No. It covers registration fees only.

Baseball/softball pants (team will specify color)
Baseball divisions must use bats bearing the USA Baseball logo.
Softball uses USA Softball certified bats.

Canal Little League is 100% volunteer-run. Volunteers keep fields maintained, concessions open, and games running smoothly.
A refundable $150 commitment per family, returned after 6 volunteer hours (3 must be in concessions).

Sign in and out using the official volunteer log at the complex.
At the end of each season, division coaches select an all-star team for every age group starting at age 8. These all-star teams go on to compete against other District 2 teams, as well as teams from other districts or local leagues, depending on their age level and how far they advance. These games generally take place from late June through July..
Selections are based on a combination of:

An elected Board of Directors, including and Executive Board and supporting volunteers.
