Canal Little League

History of Canal Little League

Canal has been a chartered member of Little League since 1971. Prior to 1971, teams were organized at the community level and played teams from other areas. Playing fields were hard to find and often in poor condition. As the number of teams grew, the decision was made to organize into one league. The Canal Athletic Association was formed and chartered in 1971, beginning with six major baseball teams playing on our present major field.
